Contributing money
You can contribute to Dunc through the Public Software Fund. As the Public Software Fund is a 501(c)(3) charity, donations are tax deductible in the United States, via Network For Good, with the designation Dunc-Tank-etch-rm. Donations can also be made directly by check drawn in US dollars and sent to the address on the Network For Good page, accompanied by a cover letter indicating the designation.
Contributing time
If you are able to contribute your time and skill in addition to money -- or instead of it -- please don't hesitate to do so! The best way to help Debian is to find and test fixes for any of the known bugs in the bug tracking system or to participate in any of the calls for testing or assistance announced on the debian-devel-announce list
If you'd like to contribute to Dunc directly but can't afford a donation, you might like to help us make this website look like it doesn't predate the web itself. The source to the website can be obtained by
apt-get install ikiwiki darcs
darcs get http://www.dunc-tank.org/darcs
and if you come up with improvements, email a url for them to your-website-sucks@dunc-tank.org.
Spreading the word
Another way to help is by getting more people involved -- whether they end up contributing directly or by offering some sincere criticism, help us realise some new potential risks before we have to face them. For more in depth discussion, you might be interested in subscribing to the mailing list.
If you like, you can email comments about the idea -- but note that if they're complimentary we might use them on the site!
